As of 7/12/2026 we are picking early varieties.
Duke has only parts of two rows left to be picked.
Polaris has ripened and we have 14 rows ready to be picked in the east field.
Toro has 2 rows in the west field that we started picking 7/17/26. It has large clusters with many berries the size of a quarter.
Draper has 2 rows in the west field that we started picking 7/16.26. In earlier years they had plenty of berries but few clusters. This year it has large clusters.
Northland is loaded and sweet in the 2 ½ rows in the west field. The 10 rows in the east field are a couple days behind.
St. Cloud should be an early berry. We have 5 rows in the east field that have a strong wild blueberry flavor but were not sweet enough on 7/16/26. The two rows in the west field are usually earlier.
Our blueberry plants were purchased from DeGrandchamp Farms in Michigan. You may follow the link to learn more about blueberries. They offer an option for home gardeners to purchase blueberry plants chosen for Zones 3-4 typical for Northern Wisconsin. Please do not hesitate to ask for help with your plantings.
This is an aerial photo of the farm as it appeared in 1938 or ten years before our family purchased it.
